What is your newsletter opt-in doing for your brand?
For today, I’m not going to talk about all of the ins and outs and why’s and how come’s for having a great opt-in for your website.
Bottom line – it’s smart business to build up your mailing list and having an irresistible opt-in is one way to make sure that happens.
Since what we ARE focusing on with this challenge, is giving you fairly easy daily prompts to go in and spruce up your branding everywhere that you show up with your business, we don’t want to skip over your newsletter.
In fact, we’re going to spend the next 3 days looking at ways to make sure your entire newsletter situation is on brand and doing it justice.
For today… go look at your opt-in: the actual thing that you are delivering to people after they sign up. We’ll spend another day looking at the sign up process, so don’t focus on that.
Look at the actual THING that you’re giving away: an ebook, a video class, a discovery call.. whatever THAT is.. give it a once over and see if there is anything you can EASILY update to bring it up to snuff with where you’re now taking your brand.
I’m not advising you to do a complete do over – just look to see if the formatting, the colors, they layout, updating your logo, etc.. would make a difference.
Now, you may find that your opt-in is completely out of date and DOES need to be totally redone. In that case, decide what you’re going to do in the meantime – leave it as is, stop giving that away and offer a simple “get free advice in your inbox” type of a freebie, or buckle up and bang out something new.
If you decide that what there is to do is create a new love offering for your people, but you know you aren’t going to do it right now, then get it on.your.calendar! for when you WILL get it done. Don’t put it out in the “someday” land, okey dokey?
